HOUSTON, Texas-(November 17, 2011) Adams Valves, Inc., has been selected to provide the metal seated butterfly valves for some of the largest natural gas liquefaction (LNG) facilities ever constructed.
Valves being supplied will include pneumatically automated and manual valves in cryogenic as well as non-cryogenic construction.
Already one of the world’s largest LNG exporters, Australia has multiple projects entering the construction phase. Adams is pleased to be a part of this growth in Australia, which adds to our worldwide leadership in providing high quality tight shut-off valves for LNG production.
For more than 20 years Adams has developed, produced and tested valves for use at extremely low temperatures. During this time Adams has continually expanded our expertise and capability, including expansion of our cryogenic test facilities for large valves up to 80 inches in diameter.
Adams valves are often used in the gas industry for isolation and control of liquid gas applications (LNG). This includes gas liquefaction plants, LNG terminals, re-gasification plants and LNG storage tanks. Adams valves have proven their reliability around the world in countries such as, Algeria, Qatar, Trinidad, Egypt, Australia, Equatorial Guinea and Russia.
HOUSTON, Texas-(November 17, 2011) Adams Valves, Inc., has supplied 36 inch valves to be used for isolation of water lines under the streets of Manhattan. Constructed in all stainless steel material, the Adams Type MAK isolation valves will provide reliable and long-term critical isolation for the city’s water system.
The Adams valves have flat face flanges and are rated to 275 psig operating pressure. Complete with electric motor actuators, the valves will be operated remotely through integral extensions to provide main line shut-off.
As the inventor and original patent holder of the triple off-set butterfly valve sealing system, Adams has supplied thousands of valves in critical applications for more than 50 years. Installations include refineries, power generation plants, district heating systems and gas processing plants.
Over the last 15 years, Adams has led the way to introducing the water transmission market to the latest valve technology. With metal seated valves up to 84” in diameter, many water agencies and authorities around the United States are now realizing the reliability and durability of Adams metal seated butterfly valves.
HOUSTON, Texas-(November 17, 2011) Adams Valves, Inc., were used in the Big Tujunga Dam Seismic Rehabilitation and Spillway Modification project. The dam was originally completed in 1939 and has been used for flood control and irrigation purposes since that time.
Valves supplied by Adams included 72”, 60” and 48” butterfly valves and 66”, 54” and 42” fixed cone outlet valves. In addition, Adams provided all other mechanical equipment for the new valve house, including penstock extensions, by-pass assemblies, low flow isolation and outlet valve. All valves were provided with electric actuators. Included as part of the butterfly valve design is a unique double sealing system to provide absolute isolation of the penstock outlets. Additionally, the isolation valves have “man-safe” locking devices to insure the 100% safety of personnel.
Commissioning of the valves took place in mid-2011 and the Adams valves were shown to provide exactly the performance expected.
Adams manufactures a complete range of valves for hydro power stations, including Butterfly valves, Spherical valves and Fixed Cone valves. Accessory products include air inlet valves, by-pass systems, over-speed detectors and control needle valves for by-pass.

HOUSTON, Texas-(November 4, 2010) Adams Valves, Inc., the originator of the triple offset, metal seated valve, has announced its supply of a highly specialized critical service valve for hydro electric turbine isolation. After months of collaboration with a west coast power generating company, Adams valves has designed, manufactured and delivered a highly specialized turbine inlet valve. Adams has supplied an all metal construction, triple offset valve with a 66” inlet and 54” outlet. The valve includes a 4” bypass line, 4” vent line, and 6” drain line all integral to a one-piece, zero leakage, metal seated valve. Electrically operating in less than 5 minutes, this highly engineered valve is designed to operate against up to 580 PSI and isolate against more than 360 PSI offering protection for a power generating water turbine. The Adams Type HTK replaces an existing rubber seated valve with the newest triple offset and inclined cone metal sealing technology available.
About Adams Valves - Adams Armaturen GmbH has stood at the forefront of advanced valve technology since 1960 when Adams invented the triple offset valve. It has enjoyed synonymous reputation in the industry with superior performance, quality and reliability. The company was established to market valves incorporating its patented triple-eccentric inclined conical metal sealing system. This revolutionary improvement in valve technology has set new standards for seal life, tightness and temperature range. The advanced features of this sealing system allowed for rapid development of special designs to meet critical requirements in applications as diverse as high temperature, cryogenics, water transmission, hydro-power, hazardous gases, emergency shut-down and nuclear plant safety systems. Today Adams covers the complete spectrum of rotary, isolation, control and check valve applications from the simplest to the most advanced.

Houston, Texas
Adams Valves, Inc., a US valve company based in Houston, Texas, has celebrated the ownership of its new property in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the parent company, Adams Armaturen GmbH.
The newly constructed 23,000-square-feet facility includes office, manufacturing and warehouse, on 3.25 acres providing future expansion. The move was a significant step to accommodate two decades of steady growth since the inception of the US branch in 1988.
With increased lifting capacity (two 10-ton overhead cranes) and additional manufacturing space, the new location will provide further manufacturing, automation and service support to existing and future customers.
With expanded manufacturing capability and promising potential for future developments, Adams Valves is looking forward to more business opportunities. The company will be hosting an Open House on April 22nd inviting end-user customers, engineering contractors, Adams sales representatives, and Adams suppliers to see the new facility.
